Learn to select optimal inspection times, recognise high challenge pens, use efficient pen riding patterns, identify health issues and document them following feedlot protocols.

After completion of the online training, an on the ground competency assessment is available so you can demonstrate your skills and competency in this area.
This E-learning series has been by funded grain-fed levies and matching federal government R&D contributions in consultation with the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association.
Learning outcomes and competencies
By the end of this course, you will know how to:
- Choose the best time for pen inspections
- Identify high challenge pens and how to ride them
- Conduct inspections using efficient pen riding patterns
- Recognise animal cues that suggest an abnormality
- Know how to respond to common animal health issues
- Record animal health issues in line with feedlot protocols

Online Training course, delivered via the Feedlot TECH Training Hub. Approximately 1 hour in length.
