Feeding and Milling – 3. Milling and Grain Processing – An Overview

This course is part of the Fundamentals of Feedlot Nutrition, Feeding and Milling Operations online skills training.  

As a member of the feeding and milling team it is important for you to understand the role you play at your feedlot. The aim of this course is to describe best-practice grain processing methods and technologies for Australian feedlot cattle. 

This E-learning series has been by funded grain-fed levies and matching federal government R&D contributions in consultation with the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association.

Learning outcomes and competencies
By the end of this course, you will know how to: 

  • Why you do the things you do when processing and milling grain
  • Your role in keeping cattle healthy
  • Different processing techniques and associated risks
  • Working with and maintaining milling equipment-

Training Location and Delivery method

Online Training course, delivered via the Feedlot TECH Training Hub. Approximately 1 hour in length.
